Alejandro Gómez Gonçalves

Graduate in Geography with a Doctorate also in Geography with a European Mention (2013) from Salamanca University. Since 2014, he has been an Assistant Professor and scholar in the field of the Didactics of Social Sciences, attached to the Department of Geography. As a member of the recognised research group (GIR) “Procesos, espacios y prácticas educativas” [Processes, spaces and educational practices], he has investigated and published on three lines of interest for the Didactics of Geography: the formulation and development of mental models in the process of teaching and learning Geography, the use of teaching resources in the subject of Natural Sciences, paying special attention to the case of allotments and urban green spaces, and, more recently, the study of school culture and educational processes. He has undertaken a research sojourn at the University of Coimbra (Portugal), where he has also taught.
