Doctorate in Philosophy and Education Sciences from Salamanca University, and an honorary degree from the National University of San Marcos (Peru). Visiting Scholar at universities and centres of higher research -Research Centre in Education, Institute of Technology and Higher Studies, Monterrey, Mexico; Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven; Institute of Education, University of London; Department of Education Sciences, Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, University of Coimbra; Department of Education Science, Bologna University; Institute of Education at Minho University (Portugal); Faculty of Education at the National University of San Marcos. Founder member and lead researcher for the group “Procesos, espacios y prácticas educativas” [Processes, spaces and educational practices] (2005-2018). Editor of the interuniversity journal “Teoría de Educación” [Theory of Education]. (2001-2018). Vice-dean (1987-1991) and Dean (1991-1993) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences at Salamanca University, Dean (1993-1996) of the Faculty of Education and Head of the Department of Theory and History of Education (2008-2016). He is currently Full Professor of the Theory of Education at the Department of Theory and History of Education (2008) and Dean of the Faculty of Education (2016) at Salamanca University.
