Arsenio Dacosta

Associate Professor

Born in San Sebastian (Gipuzkoa, Spain), he holds a Doctorate in History from Salamanca University, and another in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Spain’s Open University –Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). Prior to that, he has lectured at both the University of Alcalá and the UNED. He is currently Associate Professor in the field of Social Anthropology at Salamanca University. He has undertaken research and teaching stays in Havana, Porto, Cuenca (Ecuador) and Lisbon. His scientific interests include the social construction of memory, and the discourses and practices of ethnic and cultural identification.
